Thank you for dropping by Driving Miss Daisy Tuggerah Lakes. I am Sandra Wetzel, and along with my husband Andrew, we are the owners of Driving Miss Daisy in the Tuggerah Lakes area. I am the main driver and manager, and you will see me driving around the area in my Haval H6 called Daisy Mae. I grew up here on the coast, then moved inland for a few years, returning ‘home’ around eight years ago. I have always worked in customer service roles, providing quality service with that personal touch. I want to ensure all my clients have a safe and enjoyable experience, being able to relish the feelings of independence and freedom whilst also having fun, a friendly chat and a little music of your choice, I enjoy all types.
We would love to assist you, a loved one, family member or even surprise a friend; by taking you to an appointment, lunch, shopping, or may be even for a surprise ‘mystery tour’? Whatever your need is, we are here to help (and have a bit of fun along the way). We will not only take you to an appointment, but can wait with you, and bring you safely home to your front door.
Our personal service stands apart from taxis and rideshare kerb to kerb cars. Our safe, dependable, and friendly companion driving service offers far more than just transportation. We can take you to your local shops, even help you with finding specials on your weekly shopping, and after we have driven you home, help you unpack your groceries as well. We do not honk the horn. We greet you at your door with a trusty umbrella if it is raining or just too hot. Then we assist you in whatever way you need, until you are safely home again.
For your peace of mind, we are vetted by the Australian Police, are First Aid and Friends of Dementia trained, approved for Working with Children, and hold all the required Small Passenger Vehicle Licenses and special rideshare insurance.
We recognise that being older does have some limitations but does not mean our passengers are expecting a less-fulfilled life! Join us soon to see why we, as part of national Driving Miss Daisy, have the goal to enable your own independence.
We look forward to meeting you and being your family when family can’t be there!™
"Wonderful experience every time I get picked up. Couldn't reccomend more! 10/10 service!"

"I recently used Tuggerah Lakes Driving Miss Daisy for the first time and would highly recommend their service. Sandra Wetzel was exceptional - gracious, attentive, and highly professional. She accommodated a short-notice airport pickup for myself and two women with disabilities, with clear and thoughtful communication throughout. After an overnight flight, her warm manner and assistance with our luggage were especially appreciated. Sandra ensured everyone was safely and comfortably home, going above and beyond at every step. I wouldn’t hesitate to use this service again. Thank you to Sandra and the team for such a seamless and caring experience.

"Sandra from Driving Miss Daisy is fantastic, great service and great price. Less than 50% the cost of a taxi and 100% more reliable. I am legally blind and my wife just lost her licence due to dementia. Driving Miss Daisy is a God send."
- Chris
"Wonderful service! Vanessa was so lovely and couldn’t have been more helpful. Any anxiety I had about getting to my appointment disappeared the moment she arrived. The car was comfortable and very clean. Thankyou so much for looking after me so well."
