Melanie Harper – Founder of Driving Miss Daisy International Limited and Chief Ambassador

Melanie Harper is the owner and director of Driving Miss Daisy NZ Ltd. She identified a need in the market for a companion driving service and following extensive research she launched Driving Miss Daisy NZ Ltd. The business began in Havelock North in 2008 with one car and one franchise. Today Driving Miss Daisy NZ Ltd has 75 plus nationwide franchises which closely follow the original business model created 10 years ago. The Driving Miss Daisy fleet has expanded to  250 vehicles on the road to date and this figure continues to grow.

Melanie’s passion is to support the growing network of Franchisees, and to have a “Daisy” in every town in New Zealand. She works closely with her husband Jack, and Driving Miss Daisy Business Manager, Paula to further develop the business and achieve these goals.

Stan Zets – Daisy Director – Driving Miss Daisy Franchising Australia Pty Ltd

Being a Daisy Director of Driving Miss Daisy Australia, Stan gets to do what he loves most; Helping others to develop a thriving business and helping our precious and ageing community friends live a happy and independent lifestyle. As part of the team that launched Driving Miss Daisy in the UK, Stan has a comprehensive understanding of the essence of the business and what drives its success. A qualified chartered accountant, and past president of The South African Institute of Chartered Accountants, Stan has spent most of his career guiding thousands of clients towards building optimal business.
As an owner and CEO of a large international consulting group with several hundred franchise partners, Stan has developed a lifetime experience in the world of franchising having worked on 6 continents. Antarctica was too cold! Stan’s mission is to share an active, warm, happy and healthy life with others.

Alan Branch – Daisy Director – Driving Miss Daisy Franchising Australia Pty Ltd

A Daisy Director of Driving Miss Daisy Australia, married for more than 35 years and part of the Driving Miss Daisy team that launched Driving Miss Daisy UK. Alan has as an awarded franchise lawyer, vast experience across the globe with the establishment and expansion of successful franchises. Alan and his legal team were awarded the Franchise Supplier of the Year two years running by the Franchise Council of Australia (FCA) and he has received multiple awards from the FCA for his special contributions to franchising. Alan is energised by the opportunity to vastly improve the independent living and enjoyment of clients using the services provided by Driving Miss Daisy. As a franchise expert and business optimiser, Alan looks to help franchisees develop a strong community bond and understanding on how franchisees can be an essential part of bringing fun, care and freedom for clients every day, when they are with their Daisy.

Sharon Hockley – Head Office’s Support Team Leader

Sharon knows the importance of Driving Miss Daisy fulfilling its aim to help people of all ages who are in need. To do this Sharon applies her extensive business and legal expertise obtained in both Australia and the United Kingdom. Sharon’s skills begin with her as a business owner, senior legal secretary and mother of three very busy individuals. As the Head Office’s Support Team Leader, Sharon works to ensure franchisees across Australia have an extensive array of information, resources and knowledge which they can use to help the lives of individual clients when those Daisy passengers need support and care.

As Support Team Leader, Sharon applies her skills, humour and compassion to answer enquiries from individuals and their family who ask how Driving Miss Daisy can be the Family when family cannot be there. Backed by over 25 years of practical and business experience Sharon enjoys problem solving, whether that be with clients, the concerned family of Daisy clients, franchisees or suppliers.
